Idk how to compare them and being fair first because i dont know exactly what changes are available for everyone and which not in both expansions releases. I've found Ideaology meshes really well with royalty for a variety of reasons, especially since royalty adds a dozen bionics so transhumanist ideaologies benefit much more and the new blinded ideaolgy can powercreep hard at the later levels of psylink when paired with Eltex gear. Most of the + for royalty for me was the new items, bionics, armor and weapons added, the actual royalty systems were just a means to the royalty ending if you decided to host royals and ally with the Stellarch, being able to call in power armored attack squads on seperate timers was pretty fun though and there was no shortage of skirmishes and small scale warfare ocurring around my colony each season. Ideology blows Royalty out of the water, while Royalty just blows. I really check out every prisoner's faith and depending on your ideology a conversion might be a real need. It also adds items and gameplay relevant to the memes and precepts, but goes beyond that. It really adds so much flavor and gameplay to the experience and introduces new systems which can be used by modders to do creative things in the future. Huge let down for me and I ignore all of it. If the tax collector drops by, I kill him. I checked out Royalty once and never cared about any of the mechanics and quests ever again. The view of about 10-20 people posting on a Steam game forum ? And yet you can have both and this is exactly what the steam forum is for.īecause on the one hand we have the swarm intelligence of thousands of players with vastly variating commitments and experiences within the game, no way to approximate any correlation there.Īnd on the other hand you have players engaged enough in the game (for good or for worse) to write here regularly (note: not me ^^) that usually also have a pretty fair share of experience in the game. The view of about 10-20 people posting on a Steam game forum ? Zombieland, Call of Cthulhu, Rimworld of Magic - mods like these are perfect for being able to incorporate elements from Ideology. Unlike Royalty, which was a pretty static thing and which you could engage with or not as you choose, the fact that Ideology changes how you play the game means that it could left itself very, very well to mods that do the same thing. What's going to make it even better is seeing what the modders will do with it. ![]() ![]() But it's fun for what it is and well worth the price. It's not something I'm going to use for every playthrough since it does essentially change how you play the game. Or they could ask on the game's official Steam forum and engage in discussion rather than simply reading what people say.
